Everything you need to know about setting up SponsorGood, the fee, payouts, and how donors give.
Getting started
Minutes. Create an account, add a few needs, connect Stripe for payouts, and paste one line of embed code onto your website. No developer required.
A specific, real item or service tied to a real person or program — a winter coat, a week of groceries, a monthly bus pass — with a title, short story, photo, and price. Needs can be one-time or recurring.
Yes. You can create multiple widgets, each targeting different initiatives, and embed them on different pages of your site.
Yes. Each widget supports its own accent color, light or dark appearance, corner style, and font — so it looks like a native part of your site rather than a bolt-on.
Pricing & payouts
A flat 3% + 30¢ per donation — and that’s the whole price. No monthly fee, no setup fee, and no contract. On a $100 gift, $96.70 reaches your organization.
No. The 3% + 30¢ is all-in and already covers payment processing — there are no separate Stripe fees deducted from your organization.
Yes — the same flat 3% + 30¢ applies to each donation, including every monthly renewal of a recurring gift.
You connect a Stripe account once. Donations are processed by Stripe and paid out directly to your bank on Stripe’s normal payout schedule. SponsorGood never holds your funds.
For your donors
No. Donors give through secure Stripe Checkout without creating any account on SponsorGood.
Yes. Any need can be offered as a one-time gift or an ongoing monthly sponsorship, and donors choose the commitment that fits.
The widget switches to a donate-only mode with smart preset amounts plus a custom amount, so supporters can still give directly.
Preset amounts are based on your organization’s average gift, then scaled up to sensible round numbers. Donors can always enter a custom amount.
Data & security
Yes. Payments run through Stripe Checkout, a PCI-compliant platform trusted by millions of businesses. SponsorGood never sees or stores card details.
Yes. Every gift is recorded with donor details and the need it fulfilled, and you can export your full donor list to CSV anytime for your CRM or thank-you emails.
SponsorGood records every donation so you have a complete history. Whether gifts are tax-deductible depends on your organization’s status and local rules — that relationship is between your organization and your donors.
Still have a question?
